The beautiful, lively city of Branson is known far and wide for its rousing family-friendly attractions and world-class water activities on Table Rock Lake. But there are dozens of seemingly unknown Branson attractions, mountain-top outposts, caverns, distilleries, and theaters located throughout our fair city. We’ve hand-selected four of our favorite hidden gems, all of which are within minutes of StoneBridge Resort’s pet-friendly lodging in Branson MO.
Top of the Rock Ozarks Heritage Preserve
Families are just starting to realize the allure of Johnny Morris’ Top of the Rock Ozarks Heritage Preserve, home to a Jack Nicklaus-designed par-three golf course, an absorbing cave tour, and one of the best restaurant views in the U.S. at Osage Restaurant. You’ll also discover a walking natural history tour, a wine cellar, and eclectic shopping. Top of the Rock is a scenic, 18-mile drive south of our pet-friendly lodging in Branson MO.
Copper Run Distillery
Lost in the country’s aggressive craft brewery expansion is the art of a good, old-fashioned distillery. Luckily for visiting patrons, Copper Run Distillery is a secluded, rustic hidden gem for those in need of a stiff, undeniably-delicious craft cocktail. Copper Run is a popular pit stop for those visiting nearby Bear Creek Wine Company, Branson Zipline at Wolfe Mountain, and the Ozark Shooters Sports Complex. Their facilities are modest, but you’d be hardpressed to discover a better cocktail menu. We recommend the “Espresso Rum,” a signature infusion of overproof rum and locally-roasted espresso beans, sweetened with raw sugar syrup. Copper Run is the first legal distillery in the Ozark Mountains since the end of Prohibition.
Amazing Acrobats of Shanghai
Choose from dozens of compelling live shows in Branson, many of which travel under the radar. One such show is the “Amazing Acrobats of Shanghai” at the Mickey Gilley Grand Shanghai Theatre, which provides visitors with a unique taste of Chinese acrobatics in a Las Vegas-style setting. This family-friendly show is an eye-popping, jaw-dropping visual treat for all ages. This historical venue also hosts “The Urban Cowboy Reunion” and several world-renowned touring musicians, such as Nathan Carter.
World’s Largest Toy Museum
Regardless of which era you grew up in, you’ll discover a wide variety of nostalgia-inducing toys at the World’s Largest Toy Museum just ten minutes from our pet-friendly lodging in Branson MO. And this engrossing, amusing museum is just down the road from the Shanghai Theatre! Browse through dozens of displays in this colorful, sizable museum, where you’ll discover train sets, G.I. Joes, thousands of figurines, board games, toy cars, and so much more – there are over one million toys in all!
